Yes. Your fundraiser must be approved before you publicly use The Darling Home for Kids name or logo or promote your event as benefiting DHK.

Branding & Promotion

Yes — once your fundraiser has been approved, you may use the official DHK logo in accordance with the brand guidelines. The logo may not be altered, stretched, recoloured, rotated, or used on low-contrast backgrounds.

Yes. Any materials that use The Darling Home for Kids name or logo, including advertising, letters, brochures, flyers, and press releases, must be reviewed and approved before they are printed or distributed.

No. Photos of children and families connected to The Darling Home for Kids cannot be used or distributed without signed family consent. If you need approved imagery, please contact our team directly.

Yes. If only a portion of proceeds will be donated, that amount or percentage should be clearly communicated in your event promotions and materials.

Share your event through social media, email, posters, and your personal or professional networks. Be sure to include your event details, how people can support you, and your donation link whenever possible.

Donations & Tax Receipts

Official tax receipts may be issued for eligible one-time donations of $20 or more made directly to The Darling Home for Kids, provided no goods, services, or other advantage were received in return.

No. Tax receipts cannot be issued when a payment includes goods, services, or another advantage in return, such as event admission, raffle tickets, fees, or auction items.

No. Gift-in-kind donations made to a community fundraiser are not eligible for an official charitable tax receipt.

To issue a tax receipt, donor information must include the donor’s full name and mailing address. Tax receipts are issued in the name listed on the method of payment. To receive a tax receipt for the same calendar year, funds and complete donor information must be received by December 31.

Please mail or drop off cash and cheque donations to the address below. Be sure to include your event name and donor details with the funds. Event proceeds should be submitted within 30 days of your event, unless otherwise arranged.

Event Rules & Requirements

Yes, but you must be transparent. If a portion of the proceeds will be used to cover expenses, donors and participants should be informed that only the net proceeds will be donated. Whenever possible, the maximum dollar amount or percentage used for expenses should also be shared.

Funds should be submitted to The Darling Home for Kids within 30 days of your event, unless otherwise arranged in writing.

You may. Organizers are responsible for obtaining any required permits, licences, or approvals for their event, especially for raffles and other games of chance.

If applicable, yes. Organizers are responsible for obtaining their own liability insurance to cover the event.

Support from DHK

Possibly. Printed materials such as brochures and informational resources may be available with advance notice, depending on availability.

Possibly. A DHK representative may be available to attend or speak at your event depending on availability, and advance notice is required.

No. The Darling Home for Kids cannot provide funding, reimburse event expenses, supply prizes or auction items, endorse products, distribute products, or provide access to donor mailing or email lists.
