Our YVI is a unique volunteer program geared towards youth 14-19 years of age. This initiative encourages youth to gain new skills and experiences in a setting like no other. Youth that are accepted into the programs will engage directly with our client population providing recreation planning, activity engagement and companionship.
Our youth volunteer programs have an impact on both our youth volunteers, as well as our client population. While our youth gain self-confidence, patience and greater understanding of complex medical needs, our clients benefit from having more access to recreational activities and one-on-one time with peers.
For the 2021-2022 year, our YVI programs will be running virtually until otherwise noted. Youth applicants must be confident with online video platforms and technology, as well as be comfortable planning and implementing virtual activities. Candidates must be able to demonstrate superior communication skills.
