Make a Donation

Over the years, donors have been very generous in their support of The Darling Home for Kids. Donations make an important difference in our ability to provide specialized care and support to families with children who are medically complex. Each year, over 40,000 hours of respite, palliative and residential care are provided to families in communities across Ontario.

Donations can be made online, by phone, or by mail, and gifts of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt.

Purchase an Item on Our Wish List

The Darling Home for Kids has a wish list in which you can help cover the costs of programs for our children and their families. Some items include providing a day of respite care, giving a child the chance to participate in therapeutic programs, as well as offering grief counselling sessions to our families with our in-house Registered Social Worker. There’s even an option to have your gift matched by a generous donor, doubling your impact.

Host a Fundraising Event

Many individuals and organizations look for ways to support their community by coming together to support a charitable cause. This support may be through volunteering their time and talents at an event, organizing a team fundraising event or by designating a portion of the proceeds from sales to support The Darling Home for Kids.

Attend Our Signature Events

The Darling Home for Kids hosts three special events each year to support our programs and operations. The Wheels Event is a community-based cycling event that takes place throughout the beautiful Niagara Escarpment surrounding the Home. Our Charity Golf Tournament is an annual must-attend event for executives and their clients to enjoy a day on the golf course while supporting a worthwhile cause. The Comfort & Joy Gala is an elegant black tie event including a gourmet dinner, silent auction and entertainment.

Make A Gift In-Kind

Not all the support we receive at The Darling Home for Kids is financial. We are grateful for in-kind support from our community friends – including personal care products and toys, as well as auction items and housewares that make our house a home. Contact us today if you are interested in making an in-kind donation. Please note, in order to provide a tax receipt for any gift in kind, we must receive an invoice, receipt or appraisal with the fair market value listed at time of donation.

Join #Youth4DHK

#Youth4DHK is a group of youth committed to giving back to the children and families who access the services offered by DHK. By joining #Youth4DHK, participants are committing to make a difference by raising funds, volunteering and sharing our Home with friends and family.
Participants will learn valuable skills and experience while supporting our Home. We will be there to help out along the way. From setting up a personal fundraising page, to zoom check-ins to share ideas and tips between participants, #Youth4DHK will be an engaging and rewarding experience for all.

What do the dusty exercise bike in your basement and the dress in your closet (that you haven’t worn in years) have in common? They can both become cash donations to The Darling Home for Kids thanks to GiveShop – a new and innovative online marketplace that allows users to donate or purchase gently used items, with the sale proceeds benefiting DHK. Donate Your Car

Donate a Car Canada accepts vehicle donations for The Darling Home for Kids. Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to The Darling Home for Kids through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for The Darling Home for Kids to benefit. After your vehicle donation is complete, The Darling Home for Kinds will send you a tax receipt and will put your gift to good use. Please click here to donate a vehicle.
