
THE DARLING DINNER SERIES
For over 20 years, the Comfort & Joy Gala has raised important funds for The Darling Home for Kids (DHK). From helping to fund the original build of the Home, to supporting our operational programming, proceeds from the Comfort & Joy Gala have built The Darling Home for Kids and helped to ensure it remains a Home that families canturn to for comfort; a rest and for support when needed. Guests look forward to attending year after year, seeing old friends and raising funds to support medically complex children and their families.
Building upon the success of our virtual event last year, and keeping the safety of our guests top of mind, The Darling Home for Kids, is hosting the Comfort & Joy No Go Gala Online Auction featuring an online auction and,new this year, The Darling Dinner Series.
We know the hospitality industry was one of the hardest hit during the pandemic. By partnering with restaurants in our large catchment area to establish The Darling Dinner Series, together we can create an exciting program that helps the families of The Darling Home for Kids, while encouraging support for your local restaurant. We’re inviting restaurants in the Halton, Peel and Hamilton areas to partner with us by offering a set meal or menu option during the 10 days of the event (October 18-28, 2021). A portion of funds from each meal or item will be donated to The Darling Home for Kids. A comprehensive marketing campaign will be developed to promote The Darling Dinner Series, utilizing both traditional advertising and social media.
Your restaurant is unique and, for that reason, we are presenting a few ways for you to get involved. We look forward to working with you to create an opportunity that meets your business objectives.
Option 1: An Evening In Support of The Darling Home for Kids
Working with you to select an evening in which, together, we will sell tickets to an intimate dinner in support of The Darling Home for Kids. Guests will enjoy a pre-set 3-course meal with wine pairings provided by your restaurant at cost. Dinner tickets will be purchased directly through The Darling Home for Kids. You will bill The Darling Home for Kids for the number of guests in attendance with the difference in the ticket price equating to a donation to the Home. Guests will receive a tax receipt for the maximum allowable amount under CRA guidelines.
Option 2: Chef’s Table Experience
Working with you to select an evening in which, together, we will sell tickets to an intimate dinner in support of The Darling Home for Kids. Guests will enjoy a pre-set 3-course meal with wine pairings provided by your restaurant at cost. Dinner tickets will be purchased directly through The Darling Home for Kids. You will bill The Darling Home for Kids for the number of guests in attendance with the difference in the ticket price equating to a donation to the Home. Guests will receive a tax receipt for the maximum allowable amount under CRA guidelines.
Option 3: Feature Meal or Menu Item
Working with you to select an evening in which, togetYour restaurant would identify a set menu or menu item and donate a portion of the proceeds to The Darling Home for Kids. For example – on a certain day (or during the entire 10-day program), 10% from every meal is donated to The Darling Home for Kids. The restaurant would be responsible for tallying the total and making the donation directly to The Darling Home for Kids at the end of the program.
