It's Been a Summer of Incredible Service at The Darling Home for Kids!

The Darling Home for Kids was in full swing this summer, providing over 4000 hours of respite and palliative care service for children. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our amazing volunteers, who provided 515 hours of service in our summer months. The kids were kept busy with outings and special events throughout the summer. We had a Siblings Day outing to Mountsberg Conservation Area to participate in their Splash Day and a trip to Stonehaven Farms to ride on their tractor and enjoy some ice cream! The kids got great use out of the hydrotherapy pool, and enjoyed pet therapy and music therapy on the weekends. We also had a visit from Earlee the Clown and enjoyed a puppet show put on for us by Camp Quality!

Our Family Room opened this August, to the delight of everyone at the Home. The spacious room is a perfect area for movies, portable Snoezelen multi-sensory therapy, and puzzles. With the Home scheduled for completion this September, all of our construction partners are working hard to complete all of our rooms!

If you would like to make a donation, or known of any companies that would be interested in donating furniture, appliances, fixtures or artwork, please contact Anne Pedersen at (905) 878-7673 x.8.

An additional group of PCL employees will be returning to the Home on September 25th to help prepare for the Family BBQ and Grand Opening of Phase II. Thank you to the employees at PCL who volunteered their time to put the finishing touches on the Home!
