Be Part of a Winning Team and Help Put The Darling Home for Kids Over the Top of Our Phase II Goal!

In response to a growing need for service, we began the construction of Phase II of the Home in September 2008; a project that will increase our capacity to help Ontario families.

The Build a Wall Challenge challenges individuals and businesses to help put us over the top in our campaign to provide special children with more care beds, activity areas and therapy options.

In the Build a Wall Challenge, support from your family and friends through the purchase of bricks, will help you to reach your personal fundraising goal, while helping us to reach our Build a Wall Challenge goal of raising $100,000.

Your support will help make a difference in a child’s life, one brick at a time.

Donation from Connie Clerici and Jennifer Cummings Names New Respite Wing in Memory of Local Resident Lauren Beth Cooper

On Thursday, June 25th 2009, The Darling Home for Kids celebrated the dedication of the newly constructed respite wing, named in memory of local resident Lauren Beth Cooper.

Lauren Beth Cooper was the 18 year old victim of a 2006 accident where she was struck by a vehicle while rollerblading on Second Line in Campbellville. “We’re honoured to allow the legacy of our daughter Lauren to live on through the lives of the children who use The Darling Home for Kids,” said Stuart and Deborah Cooper, Lauren’s parents, at the dedication ceremony.

The dedication of the new wing was made possible by Connie Clerici and Jennifer Cummings of Closing the Gap Healthcare Group, who donated an incredible $100,000 to the Home's Phase II Capital Campaign.

Construction of Phase II Nears Completion!

As we welcomed children for a busy summer of respite and palliative care, we were delighted to have access to our newly expanded kitchen, with plenty of space for cooking, baking and gathering around the kitchen table for meals.

Our family room will be the next area that will be completed, and we can hardly wait to reinstate our front entranceway, access our new fireplace and have a place for our children and families to relax and kick up their feet.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals and corporations we are only $500,000 away from our $3M goal. With your help we can reach our goal of completing our Home so we can be an oasis of comfort and joy to many more children and families in need.

To make a donation to the Capital Campaign please visit our donations page or consider joining our Build a Wall Campaign.
