The Darling Home for Kids offers two core programs, respite care and palliative care, as well as a number of therapeutic programs.

The respite care that we provide offers parents who are caring for a medically fragile and technology dependent child a much needed break. A typical respite stay is 48 hours, but children can come to The Darling Home for Kids for up to a week during peak times. In addition to overnight respite care we also offer a day program during the summer months. Our palliative care program provides support to children with a life-limiting or life-threatening illness and their families.

In our palliative-respite program, we offer families a break where they can go on vacation, spend time with their other children, or simply get some much needed rest. Parents can do this knowing that their child is being well cared for by a dedicated healthcare team. For children who require end of life care, The Darling Home for Kids has all of the benefits of a hospital with all of the comforts of home. The Darling Home for Kids offers a number of therapeutic programs including music therapy, recreation therapy, pet therapy, hydrotherapy and multi-sensory Snoezelen therapy all designed to promote well-being and offer unique experiences to the children in our care.
