In an effort to better serve Ontario families, Phase II of construction on The Darling Home for Kids began in September 2008.

We desperately needed to grow our physical space to provide a greater degree of service, and to reduce the need for our growing wait lists. The final result of our expansion will provide a dedicated living area, an expanded eating area, an all-purpose activities room, an improved snoezelen area, an increased mechanical/storage area, and most importantly, 3 new bedrooms with 6 care beds.

The completion of these facilities will permit the Home to function in the manner intended, with sufficient areas for our many programs, space to accommodate our events and outreach services, while providing increased respite and palliative service for many additional families.

The promise is that we can expand our services to inspire and transform our children, our families and our community.

The future floor plan for the Home will:
A) Expand the respite care wing by adding three more care rooms with two beds each.
B) Add a family room where families can enjoy quiet time, relax, and interact together.
C) Expand our current kitchen area to allow us to serve additional children and their families.
D) Add a dedicated activities room for organized recreation for our kids, and training and development of staff.
